Looking at lake history document on home page. Since 1990 we have fished Anita 18 times. In April / early May Anita has served up The largest total boat point total ever at 3515 points in 2010. Anita also served up # 5 best all time single fish point card in 2010 at 1675 fish points. Anita is generally clear water in the spring and history shows that the jerkbait or Rouge has proved to be a winning presentation over the years. I know that later in the season the ol top water frog can be a killer on Anita.
Good Luck..

Here is my report on how the weekend went.

I put the boat in Friday around 4:30 and fished until 8:30. I had 7 bites and only 1 in the boat. The one that I got in the boat was a 17" that hit a popper in the south creek arm by the tubes. I had 5 other blow ups back there and decided I was going to go there first thing in the morning.

I ended up by those tubes this morning and 3rd cast results in a 14.5" fish on the popper. I picked that area apart and ended up getting a limit of 3 12"s and 2 14.5"s. 2 of them were on the popper while the other 3 hit a wacky rigged senko. I decided to leave when I realized all of the fish back there were small fish. I motored my way to the tubes by the boat ramp and continued to fill the boat with small fish. I slowly upgraded my 12 inchers to 13 inchers and then my 13 inchers to 14.5 inchers. In the hour and a half I spent back by the north tube, I had 15 or so in the boat from just that one area. Everyone of them was on that wacky rigged senko except for 2 that hit a bluegill spinnerbait. I decided to fish the flats by the jetties after that. I loaded the boat with 14-14.75" fish on the flats. I ended up catching 1 on a gold/black back lipless crank while the rest came on a Duo Realis 120 jerkbait. I found the fish were staging out in the 6-8ft range and were suspended in around the 4ft range. As the time got closer to 2, I decided I was going to move to the flat on the campground side of the bank. 1st cast on that side resulted in my 1st Missouri, a 15". I moved my way down the flat with nothing to show for it. I decided to move out and try fishing the channel to see if there weren't any bigger fish roaming around out there. Unbeknownst to me, there was a rock pile that I found in the channel. 2 straight casts resulted in a 16.5" and a 15". All 3 of my Missouri's came in the last 15 minutes of fishing time. I may not have won the tournament, but It felt very good to have made such a strong push in the last few minutes. I easily jumped up atleast 4 places with those 3 Missouris on my card.

All in all it was a great day for numbers but not so much big fish. I caught 30 or so fish on the day with 1/3 of them going 14 or 14 1/2 inches.

Friday rob and I found the pattern of fish off the bank in deeper water on ledges and drops

Saturday being last blast I figured I would wait till boats got off the spots I wanted to fish
I started at boat ramp and threw a pop r and a buzz bait got a lot of strikes and only a few short fish getting hooked

After an hour of waiting I went to the last point before the dam on the right
Started with a crank bait working the off shore rocks on picked up a club.next 20 minutes I got another club, fished for another 20 with no takers

So I moved over to the dam where James had just left and he was fishing it the way I had planed so I changed up and threw a drop shot but that didn't work
Stayed there and used a jerk bait and crank on a couple more passes of the dam,no takers

Moved over to the new white rocks where mark list was I fished that with a jerk bait and a crank bait and was getting short fish, with not much luck with cardabke fish I moved into the tree cove and used a jerk bait over and along the trees with again some short fish
After that I hit the point on that cove that goes to the tube
On that point I found a deep drop with a huge tree on it so I started deep cranking and jigging down that drop and did not get anything there

So I went back to the rock point and countinude to crank and jerk bait the whole structure on the point spent 2.5-3 hours and hit 3 of my Missouri's

I went back to the boat ramp cove where the Jakes were and watched kloekorn boat like 400 fish with a drop shot I fished around for a bit and got a 16.5 on a jerk bait

Went back and finished my day on the point and got my last Missouri a 15.5

Big recap, from the 8th place finisher...
Ran right to the bay on the right end ("city boy", dont know North from West) of the dam. I was sure the males would be crusing all over the trash that lays in the bottom of that bay. In pre-spawn/spawn stage. Tied on a C-bait White with a Sub-woofer trailer. Made 2 really nice casts, and B.V.D Yells "Get the net" Ole Bob flops a 14.5 in the net, and I drop the C-bait and pick up a jerk bait (the looked alot like the one Bob used to put one on the card)
I stuck the same 14.5", two more times, and we left the bay. I stuck that 14.5 again up at the tubes. and I found him again on the Roadbed (with a C-rig), Man that fish gets around.
I was starting to think maybe I would'nt get any other size fish, when a 13 cracked my Pop-R
All-in-all, a fun day to be fishing, Did I mention that I HATE THE FREAKIN WIND!?
Congratulations to Nate, James and Bill
