Started out the morning by starting to watch Nate Brown start in the starting spot I was planning to start my day in at the start of the tourny. Then I see Will head to my secondary spot, so I decided to continue down boat ramp creek and begin covering water. Dave Utley and I fish fast with buzzbaits, spooks, and chatterbaits with no bites. We move to the other bank across the creek and fish wood and rock. I connect with a 16.5 on rocks with my Jewel Eakins Jig and craw. In the same general area I miss a blow up on my frog. We continue to fish brush and rocks in the same creek and find a 14.5 on the Eakins. After that we move over to the dam area and fish in the 20mph winds but didnít find any bass. We decide to make a move and fish some deeper stuff. We get to some deeper wood and dave hooks a 15+ on a 6XD crank. I switch to my cranking stick and Series 5 crankbait and we start cranking the area hard. I net 2 more bass for Dave and then start getting some bites of my own. I hook 2 missoris and 1 club to include a nice 18inch bass that took both my hooks that pinned the bass mouth open. I thought the bass was gonna be absolutely huge but realized that his mouth was open during the fight. We continue to fish wind blown wood and I slowly cull my smaller clubs to bigger clubs. I did miss one good fish and broke one off in the middle of a brush pile. I boated around 9 bass and Dave boated 3. Huge shout out to Dave Utley for making the call to check the deep brush. That move was the game changer for our boat. Great day on the water and congrats to John Sr., Jim Collins, Nate Brown Jr and Will for their top 5 finishes. Great to see crankbaits working for Jim too Smile.

mark and i dropped trolling motor at ramp and fished the brush there (the whole time james yelling at me)
pretty quick we both found a fish in the brush mine on a pb&j jig and marks on a b/b ring fry
continued on in the brush and weed line and bank with nothing to show throwing a few different baits.moved on down by dam and fished point on back side of fishing pier throwing a jerk bait over scattered logs on the bottom in about 6 fow and got 3 fish on the card and two shorts in an hour and mark hooked a good missouri in the brush on another ring fry that stabbed his hook into a tree flopping on top of the water i hit the tm in high but could not get to it fast enough and it swims away with hook still pegged into tree
moved from there to the dam i am still throwing my jerk bait and hook up on my 5th fish to finish my card
then proceeded to move all over the place trying to find some fish for mark
finally at the end of the day we went back to boat ramp creek and start finding fish in brush again i upgrade one and get another non upgradeable fish and mark hooks two more that break him off in brush and that was the end of the day
