Sunrise in Des Moines is 6:19 on this day, it is 6:30 in Omaha. Could go at 6:00, but it might be 5 minutes after this before you can see very well.

I'll probably be headed out by 1pm on friday also, especially if the weather is decent... Get a little time on the pond and find some wood for the fire...

I heard that the moose & the pipe are leaving in the van, blinds fully drawn) friday early evening... Haven't heard much else yet.

Tree, Groff is out of town until Friday pm. I think Pipe has one in his boat you could borrow for the event.
What, do you think your going to need one? Razz

I have two boards, will throw my spare in just in case. Unofficial boards won't cut it.

Don't forget your rain gear. T-Storms rolling into the Anita area around midnight tomorrow night. 30-40% chance of rain from that point into Sunday. Another wet tournament at some point during the day, hopefully with no lightning.

"It was the best of times. It was the worst of times"
Kaptain steered the craft to the South end of the South/East arm and we tried to toss plastics in the brush. The wind was howling down the lake right at us. John gave it everything he had just ot keep us off the bank. So after about 40 min. we made a run up to calmer waters, at the Damm. John stuck a club,on a beaver, in the bay on the right end of the damm. and I started crankbait fishing. I hit 2 clubs and we moved down the bank to the rockpile on the point. John stuck another club and I got my MO. on a gold jerkbait. After that we concentrated on rockpiles and picked up fish as we went along. The fish wree scattered along the sturcture, but if you could bring a crankbait over the top of the pile, you'd get bit.
All in all a good day, we each caught 6 or 8 fish, and had a good time. Very Happy

I had four rods with me but decided at blast that I would only need two - jig and shakey head. After about 10 casts with the jig, I picked up the shakey head and only put it down for about 10 more casts on the day. We were on the point on the south end of the dam when Rupp had a bite on a swim-bait, waived off the net and then lost it at the boat. We worked that a little while longer and I managed to pick-up a club fish on the shakey head. We moved down past the swim beach and moved into the ditch between the two visible brush piles and about 5 casts in we hit a double - me on the left side of the boat and Rupp on the right side. We moved down to the last visible brush pile and go cut off by a boat load of crappie fishermen, so we continued to work the area in between and caught all of our fish right there. Rupp was fishing a shakey head with a green-pumpkin (red flake) ring fry - I was alternating watermelon candy and red bug. The bite was so light (especially in the wind) that you only felt the weight. The big bass - when I went to lift I felt the weight and set the hook. Drag started peeling of immediately, I worked to get her started up and was back and forth as she would run and pull drag. One of the best fights I've had in a long time.

BTW Pipe - you can just buy me a Tru Tungsten Swim-bait and we will call it even Razz
