From Omahagasprices.com
Averages:
Today 3.453
Yesterday 3.455
One Week Ago 3.543
One Month Ago 3.364
One Year Ago 3.088

Mapqwest from 72nd & Dodge says 178 miles one way.
Using the 10MPG equation: Looks like NB fee should be around $62 for a one way tow.

Just thought I'd throw it on here to provide discussion data for the meeting. Last time we forgot to find the official data.

I personally would feel way better with a Diesel. Here's why: Take your truck (Cummins diesel 2001 or newer probably) which gets 19 mpg city & 22 hwy based on dodge’s website (diesel gets way better fuel economy and tows better too), and let’s say being very conservative you get 15mpg while towing. Then taking the 178 miles / 15mpg x 4.10 (IA diesel prices), your non-boater would only owe $48 and not the 62 or whatever for the rest of us. Man, I wish I was fishing with tom, lol!

Diesel prices suck…but diesels are a very important part of our very near future US energy policy as they have significantly improved fuel economy, is way cheaper to refine (the high prices are due to over taxation by the epa & us govt), and have double the life of a gasoline engine. Look for more and more consumer vehicles going diesel beginning in ’09. Don’t let the high prices on diesel fool ya when it comes to truck fuel economy. Uhhhh, anyway, back to boji. Wish our boats ran on diesel!

Now that we have the depressing issues dealt with, here is the good news:

Pairings:

1 M Hallet - D Utley Very Happy
2 M Haneline - Guest
3 Moose - Solano
4 Kozel - Pease
5 D Prentis - R Walsh
6 D Anderson - A Nisley
7 Cota - N Vodicka
8 K Toms - Lead Pipe

"Blast off" at 6:00 AM

We have 14 staying in the cabins - this breaks down to $28 per person for the trip. Ken, Larry, Moose, et al are working up something for Thursday dinner and will let everybody know what they need to pitch in for ingredients and such. We will have our stear fry on Friday night - Moose is killing a cow for us and I will be grocery shopping for side dishes.

Gettin real itchy for this one!

Thanks shad! Looking forward big time. When you and Marc H headed up? Let's see if we can get Solano or someone in the know to post the cabin name or # on here also for those headed up first thing thursday. We also need to designate one for the knuckleheads who stay up late and get rowdy and one for the "others" like me, campfire, and cota.

Also, I would vote to try to make the thursday night meal fairly early (so there's enough time to go back fishing afterwards) or fairly late in the evening (so there's enough time to fish late into the evening) to maximize fishing time.

1 week until prefishing! Canals here I come, lol.

Marc and I are not going up until after work on Thursday - Solano has a check from the club to pay the remainder for the cabins and get the keys. I think the Thursday night meal will be something that people can pick up when ever (sloppy Joe's, chili, etc.) that way we can eat whenever.

Still a few days away, but the weather at boji is looking fairly stable. Looks to be sunny with high’s in the 60’s lows in the 40’s each day. Today is in the 70’s as we speak up there. Not quite hotties in bikinis weather, but I’m sure we’ll spot a pipe or a moose in their undies at some point. Razz
