There was a movie several years ago, I never saw it but the title seemed to fit this weekend:

Dude, where's your big motor?

Dude, where's your boat?

Dude, where's the fish?

Dude, where's your keys?

I guess it's a good thing nobody drowned Shocked

I had a "Dude I lost my shirt" moment on the way home. Left my t-shirt on the boat seat and drove off. Embarassed

It was a....dynamic weekend for many, I don't especially like that lake. It's huge, the no-wake thing is really questionable there as it takes over 20 minutes to run from dam to tip (we tried and timed it) if you're running a "legal" speed.

It was my first experience with the lake and honestly I wouldn't cry if I didn't have any more Razz

We spoke with the DNR guy on Friday afternoon to verify that it was indeed, a no-wake lake, and they said the biggest bass reports they had coming in were 15-16", and their sampling records will agree with that. I like fishing our lakes where when you set the hook, you have no idea what could be coming up, instead of almost knowing that it will be a 14-15" fish! Hah.

With all that said, I enjoy the lake in the sense that there is a LOT of structure and cover to fish so everyone can fish the way they like, but damn was it hot. See everyone Saturday morning at the ramp on Summit!

my boy jake said comeon i got the secret spot we will slay em , I said how bout the dam when you prefished , he said Oh no that is devoid of life lol Twisted Evil so we go to the honey hole and it was less than sweet, thats fishin for ya Rolling Eyes I gotta agree withWill on this one about the no wake it takes forever to get to the other end and then about 25 stumps later we end up really fishin for 14inch bass anyway , so maybe in a couple of years when those 14's grow up it will look a little better

The deal with the Dam was, You had to fish paralle in about 10 to 12 feet. In other words, just outside the weed line. I remember John telling me that in late summer "the fish are still there, just deeper". I watched a pair of local boys fish the same spot I found fish, and they gave up after about half an hour. They were to close, and they were firing at the dam. I was there about 10 min after they left, and loaded the boat.
