For those of you looking for something to do Memorial Day weekend.
Go check out Brown lake, it is still in it's spring condition with water temps in the upper 50 s.. and visability was near two feet I guess. .. I made the trip up Friday night, and was at the ramp at 6 am Saturday morning. A stiff North wind and air temp of 39* chased me off for an hour. I ran into Sioux and had flap jacks and three cups of hot java. Back to the ramp by 7:20 ish, put in with the wind blowing water up and over the transom as I backed away from the ramp. NICE,,, Where the hell are my winter gloves.. Anyway I fished until about 1:30 I caught 17 fish. Most on a black and blue chatter bait, with my two biggest 17" coming on my little green jig. I snuck up on a school of 14" feeding in the SW corner near the beaver dam, where I was able to catch four fish in five casts with the chatter bait to start the day.. Other then cold it was a good day.. Plenty of filets to feed the family.. Smile

I am punching out of here pretty darn soon for the weekend. I have to go up home and help mom with some chores. My Plan is to get out on the Mississippi River pool # 10 or Turkey River at some point for some Small mouth once I get my chores done.. I'll let you know how that works out. Have good weekend ..

Nice lake tip Randy, but the lure choice wasn't the best. Solano and I ran up north yesterday. Fished Snyder for the first 2 hours. Had a tip that it was full again, bad tip. The lake is still low. We did manage 7 Missouris and that many Clubs in those 2 hours. The fish are healthy for sure, just no water for them to swim in. Ran over to Browns after that, had to dodge the pan fisherman as they ran their boats between us and the banks. Plus all the big boats out running tubes behind them and a few Jet Skis. Good practise for Boji. in 7 hours we had 50+ fish between us with 20-25 Missouris up to 17". JS did have one in the 19" class on that jumped off at the boat. As a side note, don't take Solano fishing on a jig bite, he will kick your butt (we didn't catch a stinking fish on a Chatterbait, I kept trying). I had 11 Missouris yesterday, which is usually a very good day. John was pushing 20 Missouris and I caught about 1/2 of the Missouris I did boat on John's jig pattern. It was a good trip, worth the 90 minute drive for sure.

"WOW" how'd we miss that 19 at the boat? Could it have been that the netman was SLOW? Shocked

We didn't have the net. I threw it in the truck when we left Snyder, didn't get it out for Browns.

By the way, I did blame Pipe for us not having the net on Browns. Anything to do with netting, I blame Pipe. Makes it easier for everyone involved.

I think this is covered in the club's by-laws.

I was only able to get out for about 4 hours midmorning Sunday. The water was muddy and low with lots of big boats moving up and down the channel. I did catch one 15" lm on a B/B chatterbait from some lumber that had stacked up on a point. I had something wack a Senco from under a stump but I missed him. That was that.
On to Okoboji.
